Granted it's a private server, but there's something very disturbing and wrong about an alleged affront into another members' privacy. It makes me seriously question my involvement over there. Not to mention, it's seemingly a play for power, almost as if any member were their commodity.

I know you guys don't want to intrude, but I really think it would be worthwhile asking Andrew if he contacted the gorts, or if they contacted him. I honestly think that's really worth knowing.

While I would like to know that myself, I really don't want to pull him into a situation he's completely uninvolved in.

I *did* email him an apology, though, since if he *was* annoyed and complained, I feel I owe him that.

Well, that's really the question - was he involved or not? If he says "I've never talked to a gort", then there's really cause for alarm. If he says "the gorts contacted me about a PM", again, cause for alarm. If he contacted them first, then, well, it doesn't make all of this any less stupid, but it would at least remove the conspiracy aspect.

I honestly don't think asking him would be that big of a deal, whereas his answer *could* be a big deal.

I've talked to him. They apparently asked him if he was being "harassed." Cordial and gentlemanly, though, as always.

I'd say your second scenario is correct.

Update: I have since discovered that PMs were not read in this situation. The "alert" that resulted in my PM ban was triggered by someone seeing this thread, not my PM.

It was just me then. Good. I must have not seen the 'previous page' indicator.

So, if Mr. Sandoval was in fact contacted by the Gorts first, and Rspaight was subesequently punished for 'harassment', the implication is that Mr. Sandoval answered 'yes' when asked if he felt harassed. Why would he do that if the initial inviations was benign?
