Byrds/Gene Clark One in a Hundred

Postby Chris M » Mon Jul 04, 2005 2:28 am

What's the best place to get the original mixes of the 2 Byrds "reunion" songs on CD? Roadmaster? How are the remixes of these 2 tracks on the Flying High comp? One in a Hundred is such an amazing song.

While we're at it is there a stereo mix of Dillard and Clark's Why Not Your Baby? If so is it on CD anywhere? What's the best sounding mono mix? Are all CD versions of it really needle drops? Another drop dead gorgeous Gene Clark song.

"Roadmaster" sounds fine. I think the Raven comp pinches the audio off of "Roadmaster," but I've never bothered to check.

The remixes on the "Flying High" comp sound more like rough mixes of an overdub session. "She's a Kind of Girl" has a wind instrument not heard in the other mix, while "One in a Hundred" has some backing vocals otherwise absent.

Anyone have the skinny on Why Not Your Baby? Also, how is the White Light remaster w/ bonus tracks?
