A Quick One (it was a different album in the US than in the UK; UK is completely in mono)
Sell Out (UK does not have "track records")
"Sell Out" is also definitely from a different digital transfer. One runs faster than the other (I don't recall which).
Who's Next (Polydor has fade-in for Baba O'Riley; of course there is also Steve's master which is clearly different than either the Polydor or the other MCA)
Yep.
Anything else?
I don't know. A lot of this was taken at Fang's word, which is why we really should make a competing site. If "Numbers" and "WAY" turn out to be bit-identical, I won't be surprised.
I am waiting for my copy of the US WBWB and I will post a track-by-track comparison with the UK WBWB soon. I already know that at least five songs are different mixes: The Kids Are Alright (UK has the full length version), Happy Jack (single version vs alt. version), Pictures Of Lily (UK has the same mix as The Singles), Magic Bus (UK has the mono mix), Won't Get Fooled Again (UK has the album version). But are the other songs the same mastering?
Exactly. This is what I want to know!
And Luke: I don't *have* any MCA CDs, really. This is the same problem that hit us during the Stones FAQ, in which I didn't have many of hte old ABKCOs. I've been trying to ILL the MCA discs, but my library is de cuntfaces.
