So-Called Liberal Media

Postby Rspaight » Tue Aug 31, 2004 10:45 am

I think it's time to start collecting examples of the *lack* of liberal bias in the news media. I've got a doozy to start with.

Check out this MSNBC poll:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3096434/

If it's gone or changed, here's what it said:

Here's the credo for this thread:

Clinton and Kerry speak to a *huge* rally in Philadelphia, and Bush loses 380 tons of highly explosive material to the terrorists in Iraq, thus distributing more weapons to terrorists than Saddam ever did.

And what does CNN plaster on their home page?

Image

Wow. Big news. To make it even more ridiculous, that's *down* from an eight-point lead in the previous CNN poll. But from the look of this, Bush is flying high. Right there in the first sentence: "President Bush commands a five percentage point lead over Sen. John Kerry in the race for president among likely voters in a CNN/USA Today/ Gallup opinion poll published Monday."

He *commands* a 5-point lead in a poll with a 3-point MOE. He *commands.* He is so *commanding.* What a great *commander.*

Matt, you want to explain to me how this is liberal bias?

Ryan

PS - In fairness, I did like their picture on the story itself:

I guess somebody didn't like that:

Well, well. Both the headline and the "command" sentence are gone.

Welcome to 1984...where the news is "corrected" and almost nobody notices.

Here's a great example of headline double-speak:

Well, gee whiz.

I wasn't aware you wrote a weekly comic strip.

At least I'm not krabby.

No, I just moved it to my webspace instead of stealing Tom Tomorrow's bandwidth.

I actually saw that story last night, but couldn't find it again this morning, so I stole Tom's copy.
