Elton John: Tumbleweed Connection (2 mixes)

Postby JWB » Mon Apr 11, 2005 7:01 am

Since nobody in SHTV wants to answer my fucking question, I thought someone here might.

What is the history of the 2 different mixes, on CD and vinyl?

Thanks.

I know St. Peter is a different mix on the Uni and (I'm assuming) MCA LPs. Are other songs different too?

I don't think that mix has been released on CD.

So all the CD's have the UK mix, including the MCA and MFSL? St. Peter is probably my favorite track on the album...my old man's too. Maybe I'll pick up an old LP just to see how different it is.

As far as I know, yes.

I thought I had an MP3 of that around, but I can't seem to find it right now. I know I did a transfer.

IIRC, It's mostly different in the "Where to now St. Peter" part of the chorus - on one version, Elton's got backup vocal tracks, and the other is single-tracked.
