Okay, the new remaster definitely comes from a better tape, but it's mastered like shit. It's shrill, compressed and brickwalled. At least there doesn't seem to be any NR, at least on the first song. Looks like I'll have to pick this one up after all.

It's not really "brickwalled." The dynamic range in a screenshot evinces digital manipulation, but it doesn't have significantly less dynamic range than, say, the Movements version.

Not true. Movements has more dynamic range. Unfortunately it sounds like poo in comparison to a properly EQ'd Salvo. So it doesn't really matter.
