The Simpsons Movie

Postby krabapple » Tue Jul 31, 2007 11:24 am

on the off chance of creating a thread on this forum that's actually more active , at least for a brief time, than the frickin' Mallard Fillmore one, for chrissake.

So, basically, this is like the longest pretty good, not excellent Simpsons episode ever. Though the first 15-30 mins could be considered excellent by itself, I suppose. Once the actual plot kicks in, things go a bit limp.

Agree? Disagree?

Haven't seen it. Yet, anyway.

I tend to agree with Krab. I enjoyed it (it's good by the standards of the earlier years, and great by the latter-day yardstick), but it didn't transcend the TV show the way the South Park movie did. I laughed a lot, so it succeeded on that level, at least.

I'll lay money that it's 100000000000x better than the Alvin and the Chipmunks movie that had a trailer attached. The sole gag in the trailer was Alvin eating shit. Seriously.
