Denon AH-D350

Postby Xenu » Sun Jun 18, 2006 12:56 pm

The inevitable finally happened: my headphones broke, after 6 years of service. I'm looking to replace them with the same model. Problem: the model's since been discontinued. Now, I know that the headphones in question aren't a very popular item, so there're certainly some floating around out there. The question is: where? Anybody have an idea where I can pick these up?

I've checked a lot of the usual locations, and while some stores list 'em as being in stock, they never actually ARE.

I thought you had Grados.

I do. My horrible admission: I don't like them. They're uncomfortable, and seemed tinnier than my Denons. It may be that I'm just used to the closed-air approach.

You can get the AH-D550 on eBay. I have no idea what the difference is.

How did they "break"?

Headband snapped. The Denons have a hard-plastic band; my brother tripped over the wire and pulled them off a shelf, thus ending their 4-year run.

The AH-D350s were always findable for $40, so I'm sort of surprised at the sudden difficulty I'm having sourcing a pair.

I don't think gray is Xenu's "thing".

Oh, trust me, I considered it. They snapped in just the wrong spot, though, to make that entirely impractical.

You're clearly not trying hard enough and/or creative enough.

I was. Then I made the mistake of letting someone else try. This person promptly superglued my headphones to his hand, started thrashing, and totally destroyed them.

I wish I were making that up.

Note to self: I'm inept, yes, but at least I didn't fucking superglue them to my fucking hand.
