John Lennon: Original Mixes on CD?

Postby JWB » Sat Mar 11, 2006 3:33 am

Has anybody collected/compiled the best CD versions of the original Lennon mixes?

I've heard that someone's currently working on a project much like that.

I don't think you have many options to choose from, really. And a quick, unpopular opinion: they no-noised discs don't sound that bad.

A quick, sh.tv-ish answer: you'd probably want the unprocessed versions of Imagine (I have a CDR), Mind Games (don't care), WaB (I have a CDR, and it's the same digital transfer with a *smidgen* more hiss, provided the CDR I have is kosher), and Some Time in NYC (don't care). I forget whether one's supposed to exist for Rock 'n Roll. Then you have the comp problem. I've heard rumors that the Lennon "Collection" varies by label, but have never seen anything conclusive one way or the other.

I have an entire thread on the subject. For some reason can't link directly to it but do a search on sh.tv for title "John Lennon NR-Free CDs: The Big Six"

I was just wondering if there was a FLAC DVD circulating. Finding the correct pressings must be a bitch.
