Yeah, it's real. I saw it in the local paper last week.

"Insurgents" -- the new "Indians."

Sad, but that's probably the most topical Family Circus in years.

Right up there with the time Sluggo knocked up Nancy, who then had to have an abortion.

Did we ever find out what happened to Odie's owner? I heard he died of AIDS.

Cathy got married.

I don't remember the last time I read Cathy.

Are you talking about Lyman, Jon's roommate from the early 1980s? I think he moved out and moved on once he found out that Jon only had a thing for Liz. Once he departed, the strip was never the same.

I have no idea if you're right about Lyman, but he did have a great porn moustache.

Lyman, that's it. Couldn't remember the name. One of the great mysteries of the comic pages. As you say, though, great porn moustache.

I could never forgive him for abandoning Odie like that, just to go indulge his own perverted desires in a bathhouse somewhere.

Though the grapevine sez he was hung like a frickin' *horse*.

Garfield, for its first few years, was a deeply weird comic strip. The ambiguous relationship between Jon and Lyman was just one of its precious delights.
