Treasury Department Campaigns For Bush

Postby Rspaight » Fri Apr 16, 2004 3:13 pm

Courtesy of Pandagon, the Treasury Department is breaking all kinds of campaign finance law by sticking this friendly note at the bottom of several recent press releases:

America has a choice: It can continue to grow the economy and create new jobs as the President's policies are doing; or it can raise taxes on American families and small businesses, hurting economic recovery and future job creation.

Here's an example:

That message is lifted word-for-word from a Republican campaign press release.

So I guess the gajillion dollars the Bush campaign has raised isn't enough -- now they're using tax dollars and government resources. Swell.

Unbelievable! I guess that once the White House figured it could get by using the White House press secretary to address campaign matters, the sky is the limit...
