Medicare report/rolling back timber rules

Checking out the papers today, the big news is the 9/11 panel accusing both the Clinton and Bush administrations of failing to prevent 9/11 when they may have had a good shot at it, but checking out the front page of the Chicago Tribune, there's some other big news that has been overlooked.
A report's been issued that predicts Medicare will become insolvent in 15 years, a report that takes into consideration the big Medicare bill the GOP passed last year, the same one that's supposed to be touted as a big aid to Medicare (which apparently is more like putting a band-aid on an Ebola infection).

That's right, the administrations rolled back some timber regulations thanks to a lawsuit by the timber industry crying about how those same regulations would have been intrusive, requiring more work and a few extra years to complete. So, now they don't have to check for endangered plants or animals when logging a good chunk of old growth forests up in the Pacific Northwest.
At this point, if an inanimate carbon rod was on the ballot, it would get my vote over the incumbents.
