How Clinton failed to protect his country and his citizens

From the anonymous conservative email list:
After receiving an email full of misstatements, half truths, lies and complete fabrications about George Bush, I decided to write my own version of "Presidential Confessions". I'll skip the lieing under oath, coercing others to lie under oath, the FBI files found in the White House, charging an innocent man of crimes so he could be replaced (Travelgate) and a lot of the other stuff. I'll try to restict my list to a narrow field - his failure to protect his country and citizens.
Reduced the military by 800,000 people.
Reduced the Army from 18 divisions to 10.
Cut Air force fighter wings from 24 to 12.
Eliminated 232 strategic bombers and 2,000 Navy and Air Force aircraft.
Reduced the Navy from 567 ships to just over 300.
Eliminated 13 ballistic submarines, 4 aircraft carriers, 121 surface combat ships and submarines and most of the support bases, shipyards, and logical assets needed to sustain these forces.
Froze saleries of the military at a time it already lagged 20% behind the private sector. Approximately 80% of the military earned less than $30,000 and more than 20,000 were eligible for food stamps.
Attempted to disallow absentee ballots in Florida of milirtary personnel stationed overseas.
Allowed Chinese access to highly classified secrets on the most advanced thermonuclear warheads from the nation's national laboritories run by the Department of Energy.
Sold a $9 million super computer configured to undertake national security missions to China for $30,000.
Eliminated many of the security procedures on D.O.E. labs, allowing foreign nattionals from China,Russia, Iran and North Korea to sensitive areas of labs - without any background checks.
LOST THE NUCLEAR CODES NEEDED TO LAUNCH A NUCLEAR ATTACK TO DEFEND OUR COUNTRY. He seemed completely unconcerned about it and they were never found.
Spent $500 million of taxpayers' money traveling (based on GAO study of 54 trips. Did not include travel done by his wife and vice president).
His trip to Africa in 1998 included 1,302 federal officials, 144 cargo planes,6.5 million pounds of equipment, 110 refueling missions. This trip caused the Air Force to cancel or refuse 26 missions and postpone 30 others.
Refused to speak to his CIA chief, thereby crippling the CIA's effectiveness at tracking terrorists (It is thought this was because the CIA chief refused to name one of the president's buddies to a top CIA post).
Refused to tell Congress that the hiring of Arabic translators was a priority for the CIA, thereby denying the CIA the oppurtunity to hire any.
Failed to respond to the bombing of two hotels in Aden,Yemen on 12-29-92.by Bin Laden aimed at the 100 American Marines staying in them. Would not help Yemen apprehend bin Laden. This is believed to be the first time bin Laden targeted Americans, but not the last - as you'll see.
After the first bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993,he couldn't decide whether or not to mention it in his radio address the next day. He said a few words abouyt it, sounding more like he was discussing a natural disaster than a terrorist bombing. Most of his speech was devoted to his economic plan. He treated ithe bombing as a simple crime, using a grand jury which kept all knowledge and evidence away from the CIA and
the Counter Terrorism Center. They were unable to get information that would have helped them link the bombings with bin Laden. His failure to act enboldened bin Laden.
In response to Iraq's plan to assassinate the first President Bush, he bombed an empty building in Bagdad.
He pulled most troops and all heavy armor out of Somalia, turning the operation over to the U.N. The rules of engagemnt of the U.N. prevented them from confiscationg weapons from the Somalis. Al Qaeda trained the Somalis how to shoot our Blackhawks down with rocket launchers.
When our Blackhawk helicopters were shot down and our troops were surrounded by Somalis, Clinton was worried about pro-life protesters in Washington. He went to a Catholic Mass at the opening of the Supreme Court and the next day went to a fund raiser in San Francisco.
In 1993 an al Qaeda plot was uncovered in the Phillipines when a bomb making lab was discovered. The plan was to sneak chemicals aboard airplanes, mix the chemicals in the bathroom, and hook this up to a timer made from a Casio watch and 9 volt battery. This was actually tested on a plane - the resulting explosion blew a hole in the plane and the passenger in the seat near the bomb was blown out of the plane.
The plan was to have 11 bombs on 11 palnes which would all go off at the same time. The CIA was hampered in tracking and arresting the mastermind by Clinton's refusal to meet with the CIA chief.
In November 1995 the Saudi National Guard office building, where many americans worked was bombed when the Muslims would be gone for prayer. It was postively linked to bin Laden.
Did not take up Sudan's offer to arrest bin Laden and turn him over to us in 1995.
Same thing in March of '96
Turned down Sudan's unconditional offer to share intelligence of bin Laden and Al Qaeda twice. Clinton was worried about re-election and a fundraising scandal.
Fall of '97 - turned down Sudan's offer of intelligence sharing again.
May of '98 - turned down Sudan's offer AGAIN even though he was told of Sudan's suspicions of something big being planned by Al Qaeda
Failed to act on information from Afghanistan's Northern Alliance about bin Laden's location.
August '98 - American embassies bombed by al Qaeda - almost 300 killed - this was the big event being planned that Sudan tried to warn him about.
Two ringleaders of embassy bombings caught - state department refused to allow FBI to go get them
Clinton bombed traing camp in Afghanistan. He warned Pakistan's Army Chief of Staff first. The Chief of Staff excused himself from the room immediately when he was told - bin Laden fled the camp moments before missiles hit. Clinton also bombed a factory in Sudan which was operating under a U.N. license and had been inspected by the U.N. Sudan had already kicked bin Laden out of their country and had tried to help the U.S. arrest him. Soil samples from near the factory mistook Roundup herbicide for nerve gas agent.
Two missiles which didn't explode were sold to China which gave them high tech guidance system.
Northern Alliance attempt to kill bin Laden failed - CIA told them not to try that again.
Refused to interview over 1,000 al Qaeda prisoners held by Northern Alliance
Three times in '99 sub missile attacks to kill bin Laden called off because Clinton refused to make a decision to follow through.
Turned down Taliban's offer to turn over bin Laden twice in 2000.
Sheik Zayed of U.A.E. offered to arrst bin Laden and turn him over to the U.S. He wanted a visit or phone call from Clinton as a sign of support - Clinton was busy fundraising. Sheik agreed to a call from Gore, he was too busy fundraising, too.
USS Cole bombed - Clinton did not respond to this terrorist attack - no surprise.
When North Korea threatened to turn South Korea into a "Sea of fire" he built them 2 nuclear power plants and gave them lots of food and money. In exchange, they claimed thay wouldn't build nuclear weapons, Clinton didn't require inspection or verification.
We all know now how that worked out.
Bush has been trying to clean up Clinton's messes....
