What's up with it? In the midst of the CIA agent leak and Rush's pill popping scandal, I'm seeing quotes like this:

He was referring to the infamous blue dress in the Monica Lewinsky scandal that led to impeachment proceedings against former President Clinton.

Then I saw a guy on Hardball, I think, saying that Rush didn't say, "I didn't swallow." (So Rush and Ahhnold get bonus points for their "candor.")

Is there any subject in the world that can't be related to Clinton's Johnson, Clinton's dope smoking, or some other thing about Clinton? When is the right going to do "let it go," much as they have advised everyone to let the 2000 (s)election go?

Clinton, like other lesser personalities, have entered our popular lexicon.

For better or good, people even said the same thing about Nixon, in his day.

If it's not him, it would be someone else.

Leaking the identity of a CIA agent and her cover company isn't a big deal. A record of serial sexual assault stretching back decades isn't a big deal. An enormous amount of illegal drug purchasing, no big deal.

But a little consensual slap-and-tickle? Dear God, say it isn't so. What about the children?

Clinton's success infuriated the right, and the fact that they couldn't bring him down infuriated them even more. They'll *never* let it go.

But the real truth is that, for some time now, Leno has been leaning right and going soft on President Bush, judging by jokes on The Tonight Show.

Case in point: President Clinton hasn't been in office for nearly three years now. Yet there's Leno night after night still giggling about Bill and Monica. He even recently managed to combine his partisanship for Schwarzenegger with his criticism of Clinton in this guffaw: "On talk radio, they've been comparing Clinton and Schwarzenegger -- you know, this whole thing, like, 'Oh, what's the difference between the Clinton women and the Schwarzenegger women?' I'll tell you the difference -- about 200 pounds." The implication, of course, is that Arnold's non-consensual sex is somehow more palatable than Clinton's consensual sex because the actor had better taste in women.

Today, the Clinton gibes continue on The Tonight Show, and the Bush jokes are still few and far between.

"Candor" would have been Rush admitting his little ol' habit *before* the law was closing in, ready to bust his petrified ass. Or perhaps, maybe after one of the other TWO times he bounced out of rehab. Funny, that he didn't feel the need to "talk straight and honest" to his shittoheads then.

I also absolutely love his lapdog apologists trying to invent ways to make their "highroad hero" seem above the other "drug addicts of the world," as Rush would refer to them. My favorite was one of the AM shills who actually tried to put forth the notion that their was a "big difference" between Rush sucking down his 25-50 Oxys and Vikes a day for a medical condition (i.e. his claimed "pain"), vs. the "run of the mill junkie doing it for just kicks." Candor...would have been Rush admitting that he bought his illegal booty in a Denny's parking lot, via his terrified-for-her-job housekeeper, because he loved getting loaded out of his mind! Anyone who's ever been high, for even a second, knows just what a crock of shit he (and they) are trying to sell.

I also love how during Rush's "heartfelt confession" he went on and on about how he wouldn't want to be perceived as a *hero* (unlike all those other "Hollywood libs," of course) and would assume "full responsibility' for his actions. Of course, all of this after he spent two minutes backhandedly blaming everything and everyone else he could get away with (e.g. "the highly addictive" prescription medicine, the failed back surgery, the doctors who initially prescribed him this...what's next, the entire medical system as we know it?). All in all, the same lying deflector that he "claims" to expose all of the time.

Oh yeah, here's another wake up all to all of his buddies trying to sell the notion that we, the liberals, are hypocrites for attacking Rush...and not the rest of the other "drug addicted libs." Message: We have compassion for all people who suffer with addiction. What we're attacking is the the sheer hypocrisy of a man who spends every day of his life denying others the same "prayers" and compassion that he now craves.

Yes, the metaphorical "chicken" (i.e. his hate and intolerance) has *finally* come home to roost. I hope he "enjoys" his time in the hot seat.

PS - Because Rush is a soulless, heartless, yet wealthy piece of filth, he'll probably get to dry out, for the third time, in the lap of luxury. Unlike, the millions of Rush-dubbed "social outcasts" who'll have to do it in a government subsidized facility....the very kind of social welfare cut that he would be the first in line to make.

Frankly, I hope his career is ruined. Lord knows, he'd be ruining someone elses if it were *their* "liberal affliction."

Two birds with one stone -- Rush just a couple months ago insisting there's nothing wrong with his back, and obsessing about Clinton, all at the same time!

I bet Rush might feel different about having someone care for his needs if he, say, didn't make 10s of millions of dollars a year, and instead had to decide between eating and prescription drugs. But nevermind that, those people who aren't wealthy are lazy and/or stupid and are always just looking for a handout anyway, right?

I'm in the middle of Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot at the moment, and as such, it's not all that weird.
