Re: The televised Obama-GOP Conference:
Truly the shining moment of his presidency so far. It was a pleasure to see him articulate and school these talking-point robots into submission - right in front of the whole world to see. Well done!
You know, love him or hate him, Chris Matthews really hit the nail on the head when he spoke of the Republican "plans" for health care reform in his analysis of the conference. That is, they've had 60 years to try to initiate and pass their own so-called "cost-effective" HCR plans. Instead, what we see now is merely a cobbled together piece of puffery designed to dupe the American public into feeling that their party's voice is being disregarded in this debate. In reality, it's a totally reactive measure that allows the 'Pubs to continue to gleefully obstruct for purely political reasons, while ignoring their own massive historical failure on the HCR front. Bless our President for exposing these hypocritical frauds yesterday for who they really are. And while we may have a few opportunistic turncoats within our own ranks, make no mistake of who the real *collective* obstructionists to progress are.
The stimulus/ribbon cutting moment was priceless too...
