Palin? Really?

Expect plenty of disagreement. Just keep it civil.

Charming lad. Looks like those traditional Christian values really helped Bristol make good decisions.

Meanwhile, it looks like Palin is a big fan of freedom:

http://www.time.com/time/politics/artic ... 18,00.html

Stein says that as mayor, Palin continued to inject religious beliefs into her policy at times. "She asked the library how she could go about banning books," he says, because some voters thought they had inappropriate language in them. "The librarian was aghast." That woman, Mary Ellen Baker, couldn't be reached for comment, but news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire Baker for not giving "full support" to the mayor.

That's funny, but it's an obvious fake. I don't think this kid would call himself Levi Johnson Palin.

Unless that really is his last name.

I appoligize if posting the link was a thread jacker. But to think that many people who might google the guys name & myspace together would get that page. It was hysterical with that Obama pitch proud and all the rest of it. We need to laugh once in a while I think.

The name is no longer valid. :|

Truth is stranger than fictional MySpace accounts. Here's the big Levi-McCain photo op:

They really want to keep the focus on the daughter, not the firing scandal or the AIP or any of the really juicy stuff...

The video of the McCain/Levi meeting is one of the funniest things I've ever seen:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCPZZb7zHp8

Who knew McCain would be so excited to meet the future son-in-law of a woman he barely knows?

I wonder if he invited McCain to "go camping and hang out with the boys, do some fishing, shoot some shit and just fuckin' chillin' I guess." John seems like the kind of guy who would enjoy that, unlike that fucking lazy uppity elitist Obama.

My favorite line from tonight's Palin speech: "I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a 'community organizer,' except that you have actual responsibilities."

If these guys can manage to spin being mayor of a city of 6,000 into a compelling line on a Presidential resume, then the country truly is dumber than dirt.

I should open a Cafepress store selling "I'm more qualified than Sarah Palin" t-shirts.

This is my new obsession. Check out this hilarity:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/co ... 01176.html

Palin, a relative unknown on the national political scene who was chosen as McCain's running mate last Friday, had been holed up in her suite in the Hilton Minneapolis since Sunday night. A parade of McCain's top advisers have briefed her on the nuances of his policy positions, national politics and, above all, how to introduce herself to the national audience she will address Wednesday night at the Republican convention.

Sitting around a dining room table, the McCain team has talked to her about Iraq, energy and the economy but has focused on what she should say in her speech, struggling almost as hard as she has to prepare for what will be, along with a debate in October, her main opportunity to shape the way she is viewed by voters. Not anticipating that McCain would choose a woman as his running mate, the speech that was prepared in advance was "very masculine," according to campaign manager Rick Davis, and "we had to start from scratch."

Oh, wow. So they decided that the speech they wrote for Lieberman or Romney just wouldn't work for Palin. I don't know what part of that is funniest.

The original speech had Lieberman/Romney/Pawlenty saying, "Barack Obama can suck my cock!"

Palin's speech allegedly includes this line: "Before I became governor of the great state of Alaska, I was mayor of my hometown. And since our opponents in this presidential election seem to look down on that experience, let me explain to them what the job involves. I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a 'community organizer,' except that you have actual responsibilities."

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that the Republicans would mock Obama for trying to create after-school programs for inner city kids, help the poor find work, remove asbestos from homes, etc. These are the same people who passed out purple heart band-aids at their convention when running against John Kerry.

A vulgar, snarky speech. No real surprises, other than we now know that she can read someone else's words. The community service dig was deplorable.

And more lies from the GOP:
(I'm actually shocked that the AP would print something critical of the McCain campaign!)

BTW, this is so funny I just have to comment. The analysis of this so called, "star-turning," "Reagan-like" performance was done by none other than conservative AP shill Tom Raum. He's already printed several anti-Obama lies over the past few weeks. Wonder how many newspapers it will run in tomorrow?

Funny...the words I've heard -- by viewers -- to describe the speech were empty and shrill.

And, of course, Yahoo has to main-page it. Conversely, after Obama's universally praised speech, they main-paged the one critical, AP-based article!

Media truly does love a horse race. Why don't they just spot the McCain campaign 15 states?

I realize I wasn't the target audience for that speech, but geez, I don't see how that appeals to anyone but the far right. She was like a female version of Ann Coulter.

They've already given up on the sane middle. It's divide and conquer time again. Rally up the wingnuts with lies and vinegar.

After reading the blogosphere tonight, I'm actually shocked at the number of Republicans who were turned off by her tonight. How easily they saw through her political veil.
