I was the only one who voted for "win the House and Senate" in this poll, and yet I did it more out of superstition than a belief that it could really happen.

Have to admit I was stunned to wake up and still see the Senate still up for grabs. Think I spent more time checking the results today than yesterday. On top of Rummy's soon to be bye bye, this was a great day.

MSNBC is finally calling Webb the projected winner in Virginia. It'll be 2 weeks though before the vote is certified (where have I heard *that* before...lol) and a recount can begin.

How ironic is it that Webb, a former Reagan 'Pub, pushed us Dems over the top? Payback's a .....

Confirming speculation, AP now reporting that Mehlman is indeed out (no pun intended) as the RNC's chair. They're saying resignation.

On a side note, I truly think we Dems owe a world of thanks to Howard Dean, Chuck Schumer and company for really helping to make this all happen. For all of my criticism as to how the DNC and DSCC have handled things over the past few years, they truly deserve the respective kudos for their organizational and endorsement efforts this time. Despite all of the freeper yammering about how this was only an "anti-Bush" vote, true or not, *none* of this could have happened without proper grassroots efforts on the part of the Dems.

I hope all this really means the end of Ralph Reed's career.

I know his connections to the Indian gaming and political dirty money deals in Texas should have sealed his fate. But somewhere in the back on my mind I think that this latest election results must not be thought of as that final frontier, and that son of a bitch could make another come back.

There should be an (unwritten) handbook that includes no sex in the Oval office, and no dirty text messages or emails.
