Whither Delay?

Postby dcooper » Thu Sep 29, 2005 10:27 am

So the indictment has been handed down, Delay has temporarily stepped down as floor leader of the House, and he made the rounds of the Fox News Channel last night to attack the prosecutor in order to confuse stupid people who might actually be thinking he did something wrong. But what will be the disposition of this case?

Unfortunately, I'm voting that the Republican manipulation machine will be out in full force to destroy Earle and bring him down before the chargest even get a hearing in Texas.

I hope I'm wrong.

The scuttlebutt I'm hearing is that Bush never really liked Delay all that much and that Blunt is a "team player." No doubt Delay will wriggle off the hook, but whether he gets the Majority Leader post back will be an interesting drama.

Then there's Frist and his insider trading woes. Both chambers are knee-deep in it now.

DeLay will weasel himself out of it...plea down the charges seems likely.

And nobody's really paying attention to Frist, are they?

Not yet. If he gets indicted, too, though, that'll get attention.

Apparently I didn't watch that DWTS video before. Wow.
