Read it and weep. This is perhaps the most horrific thing I've read thus far in my school's paper. It isn't just that it's horribly written (the opening two paragraphs and ending paragraph are essentially from a totally different article). No, *none* of the reasoning makes sense. Maybe it's the "conservative" drive to avoid lawsuits that....ahh, why bother? Just look.

"Liberals think that people are incompetent, that people need the government to make decisions for them."

Moral values, anyone?

"Turns out, Americans want to make their own decisions."

Gay marriage, anyone?

"Conservatives, on the other hand, assume that citizens are rational. Conservatives prefer to leave citizens to maximize their own self-interests."
