I wouldn't jump to any conclusions. The Republicans always grab those Southern states quickly and easily. The Dems have California (huge), and it will come down to OH, PA, FL, etc.

Louisiana and Mississippi for Bush. I am shocked. It's all over.

Right. It's all about those three states.

It is WAY too early to tell. There are no projections yet for ANY of the key battleground states. It's not exactly a huge shock to hear that Louisiana and Mississippi just fell into the Bush column.

FWIW, Slate's survey of exit polls says:

Florida
Kerry 51
Bush 49

Ohio
Kerry 51
Bush 49

Pennsylvania
Kerry 53
Bush 46

Novak admitted he screwed up when he said Bunning was toast. (Now it looks like Bunning is going to win, which I expected.)

I hope he was right about Ohio, but depending on Novak to be right is a fool's game.

10:00

Iowa (7) - No call
Nevada (5) - No call
Montana (3) - No call
Utah (5) - Bush

Still no surprises.

It's Ohio. Bush is going to take FL, and Kerry is going to take PA.

Arkansas goes to Bush. That was a nice idea, but didn't work out. Oh, well.

He said that he'd talked to GOP people in Ohio, and that they were very pessimistic, saying that Bush faced an "uphill battle" there.

Missouri goes to Bush. Again, that would have been a nice surprise.

Kerry's looking good in PA. Only 53% of the precincts reporting right now, but keep your fingers crossed...

Yeah, I'm not worried about PA.

OH scares the hell out of me.
