I just made the mistake of looking at the local paper. At the top of the front page (behind the election "wrapper"), there was a charming little human-interest story about a couple where the husband was a Democrat and the wife was a Republican. At one point, the wife burbled, "I just don't know why everybody doesn't love [Bush]."
Below that story, there was a huge picture of people in Iraq covered in blood.

That really says it all, doesn't it? And I'm sure her pretty little head hasn't been preoccupied with the question of exactly why "everybody doesn't love Bush." Wouldn't want to start thinking too hard about where that attitude is leading our country.
