Recent batch of Fantasy SACD's

Postby Matt » Sun Aug 22, 2004 7:09 pm

These came out last Tuesday (8/17):

JERRY GARCIA/MERL SAUNDERS Live at Keystone, vol. 1 ~ Fantasy FSA-7701-6

VINCE GUARALDI TRIO A Boy Named Charlie Brown ~ Fantasy FSA-8430-6

THE MODERN JAZZ QUARTET Django ~ Prestige PRSA-7057-6

SONNY ROLLINS The Sound of Sonny ~ Riverside RISA-241-6

THELONIOUS MONK Monk’s Music ~ Riverside RISA-1102-6

CHET BAKER In New York ~ Riverside RISA-1119-6

CANNONBALL ADDERLEY/ MILT JACKSON Things Are Getting Better ~ Riverside RISA-1128-6

THE WES MONTGOMERY TRIO ~ Riverside RISA-1156-6

BILL EVANS Explorations ~Riverside RISA-9351-6

THE ISAAC HAYES MOVEMENT ~ Stax SXSA-1010-6

I did get all of them. I was curious if anyone here has any of these?

So far, the Adderley/Jackson title is great. The Bill Evans disc sounds better than I have heard it before. Monk's Music (Stereo) was a great surprise as well.

I might get the Monk one. I wasn't too thrilled with the Big Star twofer, though.

The world could use another version of Wes Montgomery Trio:

What, not another round of CCR reissues?
