Harvey Danger - Little by Little

Postby lukpac » Fri Aug 04, 2006 9:16 am

A friend tipped me off to this - wow. Crunchy guitars, great hooks, soaring poper pop backing vocals. How is it the press fawns over every new release from the Stones, yet stuff like this gets overlooked?

I'm no Dave Marsh (nor would I want to be), so just download (free!) the damn thing for yourself:

Or you can buy it from them with a bonus CD.

Harvey Danger? They're the "Flagpole Sitta" guys, right? I recall being a bit mixed on them at the time, as I liked some of the stuff I heard and really dislik...

...oh, wait. They have an asian guy in the band. Now I have to download it.

Yes. Although apparently that's new to me.

Pretty good thus far. MUCH better than the new Gin Blossoms.

Yeah, I like what I've heard thus far. Thanks for the tip.

Cream and Bastards Rise is great, as is Little Round Mirrors.

Heh. Got a pressed copy yesterday (reissue, FWIW), and the inner rings say:

"MADE IN CANADA BY AMERIC DISC"

I wonder if George Martin knows about this.

The Gin Blossoms never recovered from Douglas Hopkins suicide. Their first two albums with his songwriting were superb.

I love what I have heard from this new Harvey Danger. I better get this one.
