Graceland - original or Rhino?

Postby GoogaMooga » Tue Aug 29, 2006 7:13 am

MK wrote in another thread that Rhino compresses everything nowadays. Has anyone compared the original Paul Simon "Graceland" CD to the Rhino remaster? Which one sounds best?

I think someone posted some waveforms of the Graceland remaster over at SH Forums. This was a few years ago so I'm not sure if they're still there. My memory's really hazy on this, but I recall them LOOKING compressed, and that came as a surprise because the remaster for Still Crazy After All These Years didn't sound squashed, at least compared to the regular CD or other earlier Simon remasters like that box set from 1993 or Vic Anesini's mastering of "My Little Town" on various S&G comps from Sony.
