Elton's new album - The Captain and the Kid
26-July-2006
Elton's new studio album, the eagerly-awaited The Captain and The Kid, is now complete and is due for release in September.
Following on from the autobiographical 1975 album Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy, this album features ten new songs reflecting on the phenomenal success, the sadnesses, the creativity and the optimism within the 39-year songwriting partnership of Elton John and Bernie Taupin.
The song titles are:
Postcards From Richard Nixon
Just Like Noah's Ark
Wouldn't Have You Any Other Way (NYC)
Tinderbox
...And The House Fell Down
Blues Never Fade Away
The Bridge
I Must Have Lost It On the Wind
Old '67
The Captain and the Kid
All songs are written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin, and the album is produced by Elton and Matt Still.
For the first time ever, photographs of both Elton and Bernie are featured on the album front cover. The cover is by Wherefore Art?, based on photography by Ryan McGinley.

Right.
One will have to try to imagine that cover without the "eltonjohn.com" on there because it definitely won't be coming out that way. EJ's site often puts their stamp on images posted on the site.
Still a classy-looking cover... but still haven't received an answer to *who* is in the small multiple photo images on the left (under the shrubbery).
Anyone know anything about this?
Steve
PS. FYI... it has been revealed that the "dude on the horse" is indeed... Bernie Taupin.

After seeing the other photos in the package I can let you know that the row of photos in the background of the cover shots are simply a number of busts in a sculptural retaining wall.
I'm also going to re-post an offer I made at ICE in case any of my friends aren't checking there with the deadline approaching...
I'm willing to share the i-tunes exclusives if anyone wants a copy. I could actually include "Someone Saved..." because that was on the I-tunes single of "The Bridge"
I'm actually looking for the other two bonus tracks. The Lyrics for "Across The River Thames" and "12" are included in the I-tunes digital "booklet, I guess you'ld call it. Any word on "12" yet? I guess "... Thames" is supposed to be on the U.K. version.
