Words and Music by Clint Black and Hayden Nicholas

YOU CAN WAVE YOUR SIGNS IN PROTEST
AGAINST AMERICA TAKING STANDS
THE STANDS AMERICA'S TAKEN
ARE THE REASON THAT YOU CAN

IF EVERYONE WOULD GO FOR PEACE
THERE'D BE NO NEED FOR WAR
BUT WE CAN'T IGNORE THE DEVIL
HE'LL KEEP COMING BACK FOR MORE

SOME SEE THIS IN BLACK AND WHITE
OTHERS ONLY GRAY
WE'RE NOT BEGGING FOR A FIGHT
NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY

WE HAVE THE RESOLUTION
THAT SHOULD PUT'EM ALL TO SHAME
BUT IT'S A DIFFERENT KIND OF DEADLINE
WHEN I'M CALLED IN THE GAME

CHORUS
I RAQ, I RACK'EM UP AND I ROLL
I'M BACK AND I'M A HIGH TECH GI JOE
I PRAY FOR PEACE, PREPARE FOR WAR
AND I NEVER WILL FORGET
THERE'S NO PRICE TOO HIGH FOR FREEDOM
SO BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU TREAD

THIS TERROR ISN'T MAN TO MAN
THEY CAN BE NO MORE THAN COWARDS
IF THEY WON'T SHOW US THEIR WEAPONS
WE MIGHT HAVE TO SHOW THEM OURS

IT MIGHT BE A SMART BOMB
THEY FIND STUPID PEOPLE TOO
AND IF YOU STAND WITH THE LIKES OF SADDAM
ONE JUST MIGHT FIND YOU

CHORUS II
I ROCK, I RACK'EM UP AND I ROLL
I'M BACK AND I'M A HIGH TECH GI JOE
I'VE GOT INFRARED, I'VE GOT GPS AND I'VE GOT THAT GOOD OLD FASHIONED LEAD
THERE'S NO PRICE TOO HIGH FOR FREEDOM
SO BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU TREAD

BRIDGE
NOW YOU CAN COME ALONG
OR YOU CAN STAY BEHIND
OR YOU CAN GET OUT OF THE WAY
BUT OUR TROOPS TAKE OUT THE GARBAGE
FOR THE GOOD OLD U.S.A.

I ROCK, I RACK'EM UP AND I ROLL
IN THE USA
I ROCK, I RACK'EM UP AND I ROLL
I'M TALKIN' ABOUT THE USA

Heard this and posted it to my site three weeks ago, unfortunately the Iraq invasion is over, perhaps Cling might write a song like;

Nuke Korea, nuke em up, then they're south..
cause the USA is somethin to talk about

or;

serious, Syria a joke,I think not...
I'm talkin bout the USA

Korny?, Yes, Rockin or cool?, No, Dated? Very!

Lyrics to "Have you forgotten?" by Darryl Worley
------------------------------------------------------

I hear people saying, we don't need this war.
I say there's some things worth fighting for.

What about our freedom and this piece of ground?
We didn't get to keep 'em by backing down.

They say we don't realize the mess we're getting in.
Before you start your preaching, let me ask you this my friend.

--Chorus--
Have you forgotten, how it felt that day?
To see your homeland under fire, and her people blown away.

Have you forgotten, when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside, going through a living hell.

And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout Bin Laden.
Have you forgotten?
--

They took all the footage off my T.V.
Said it's too disturbing for you and me.

It'll just breed anger, that's what the experts say.
If it was up to me I'd show it every day.

Some say this country's just out looking for a fight.
After 9/11, man, I'd have to say that's right.

--Chorus--
Have you forgotten, how it felt that day?
To see your homeland under fire, and her people blown away.

Have you forgotten, when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside, going through a living hell.

And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout Bin Laden.
Have you forgotten?
--

I've been there with the soldiers, who've gone away to war.
And you can bet they remember, just what they're fighting for.

--Chorus 2--
Have you forgotten, all the people killed?
Some went down like heroes in that Pennsylvania field.

Have you forgotten, about our Pentagon?
All the loved ones that we lost, and those left to carry on.

And we vowed to get the ones behind Bin Laden.
Have you forgotten?

Great...now I'm all worked up as I'm about to go to bed.

I can't even begin to tell you what's wrong with those songs.

There's always tomorrow.

Just trying to stir up some conversation/debate.

I wonder who wrote that song for Clint, Charlie Daniels maybe? As for the T-shirt, it would make for good toilet paper. I bet redneck's like Clint are disappointed that the bombing, death and explosions have slowed down. He probably has lots of popcorn left.

Just noticed that Clint takes credit for writing it. I'm surprised that he knows how to spell, much less write. His collaborator probably handled all that tough stuff though. Clint really has a knack for rhyming words together, very similar to one of George Bush Jrs. speeches. Maybe they were in the same 8th grade class.

Not that it really matters, but I find the Clint Black song to be annoying for two reasons:

1) It's not even Patriotic, as it could provoke anger in both liberal's and conservative's. It just add's more fuel to the fire, while people around the world are watching to see if the USA are truly liberators or just another outlaw nation. I hate to see the country that I was born in and have lived all of my 47 years being perceived as an outlaw nation.

2) This song and that disgraceful t-shirt make a mockery of my favorite music, which is rock and roll. Clint Black doesn't represent Rock music. Sure, I find some rock artists to occasionally be silly and ridiculous but are they doing it to spite country music?

Both of the songs being discussed in this thread, appear to me, as hurriedly and poorly writen. Just obvious attempts to cash in on the "kick their ass, and steal their gas" trend. Neither song presents country music in a positive way. Both these artists have a right to express themselves and many, many rock artists have made equal asses of themselves through out the years. My main point is that I'm offended that somebody like Clint Black want's to make a mockery of the musical genre that I love most.

Somewhat true. Maybe more of a backlash against other celebrities who are loudly voicing their opinions for the opposite stand, an attempt to separate themselves from other groups like the Dixie Chicks?

The second song doesn't bother me as much, for some reason. The first song irks me not so much for what it is, insomuch as Clint Black is normally a decent song writer. He seemed to me to be a talented enough guy to be able to write a song showing his support for the troops without the song degrading into a black-and-white view of things. The first two quatrains start off well enough, but unfortunately it's all downhill from there.

This is my favorite line:

"I'VE GOT INFRARED, I'VE GOT GPS AND I'VE GOT THAT GOOD OLD FASHIONED LEAD"

Because it shows that America didn't get to be the sole remaining superpower by being a bunch of weak-kneed pantywaists. I mean, you can't spell "America" without spelling "War." I mean, if you add a 'w.' You know what I mean.

(4/8/03, 3 p.m. ET) -- The CMT Flameworthy Music Video Awards were held in Nashville last night (April 7), and the big winner was Toby Keith. In addition to co-hosting with actress Pamela Anderson, he took home three trophies for his video, "Courtesy Of The Red, White & Blue (The Angry American)." Keith's video won cocky video of the year, male video of the year and the big one, video of the year.

In winning the final award of the night, Keith dedicated the honor to Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and General Tommy Franks, the two top American officials running the war in Iraq. "I want to dedicate this great award to Mr. Rumsfeld and Tommy Franks and all the people over there (Iraq) putting it down for us tonight," Keith said. "The American soldier, they're the best in the business."

Courtesy Of The Red, White, And Blue (The Angry American) Lyrics

American Girls and American Guys
We’ll always stand up and salute
We’ll always recognize
When we see Old Glory Flying
There’s a lot of men dead
So we can sleep in peace at night
When we lay down our head

My daddy served in the army
Where he lost his right eye
But he flew a flag out in our yard
Until the day that he died
He wanted my mother, my brother, my sister and me
To grow up and live happy
In the land of the free.

Now this nation that I love
Has fallen under attack
A mighty sucker punch came flyin' in
From somewhere in the back
Soon as we could see clearly
Through our big black eye
Man, we lit up your world
Like the 4th of July

Hey Uncle Sam
Put your name at the top of his list
And the Statue of Liberty
Started shakin’ her fist
And the eagle will fly
Man, it’s gonna be hell
When you hear Mother Freedom
Start ringin’ her bell
And it feels like the whole wide world is raining down on you
Brought to you Courtesy of the Red White and Blue

Justice will be served
And the battle will rage
This big dog will fight
When you rattle his cage
And you’ll be sorry that you messed with
The U.S. of A.
`Cause we`ll put a boot in your ass
It`s the American way

Hey Uncle Sam
Put your name at the top of his list
And the Statue of Liberty
Started shakin’ her fist
And the eagle will fly
Man, it’s gonna be hell
When you hear Mother Freedom
Start ringin’ her bell
And it feels like the whole wide world is raining down on you
Brought to you Courtesy of the Red White and Blue

An oldie but a goodie:

In America
Charlie Daniels Band

Well the eagle's been flyin' slow
And the flag's been flyin' low
And a lotta people sayin' that America's
fixin' to fall
Well speakin' just for me
And some people from Tennessee
We've got a thing or two to tell you all
This lady may have stumbled
But she aint never failed
And if the Russians don't believe that
They can all go straight to hell
We're gonna put her feet back
On the path of righteousness and then
God bless America again

CHORUS
And you never did think
That it ever would happen again
( In America, did you )
You never did think
That we'd ever get together again
( We damn sure could )
Yeah, we're walkng real proud
And we're talkin' real loud again
( In America )
You never did think
That it ever would happen again

From The Sound up in Long Island
Out to San Francisco Bay
And everthing that's in between them
Is our own
And we may have done a little bit
Of fightin' amongst ourselves
But you outside people best leave us
alone
'Cause we'll all stick together
And you can take that to the bank
That's the cowboys and the hippies
And the rebels and and the yanks
You just go and lay your hand
On a Pittsburgh Steelers' fan
And I think you're gonna finally
understand

REPEAT CHORUS TWICE

A friend of mine found a T-shirt at her parents' yard sale several years ago that showed a big mushroom cloud with the caption USA 2 JAPAN 0. She was to say the least horrified that her father owned such a thing...

More from Toby Keith:

American Soldier Lyrics
Artist:Toby Keith

I'm just trying to be a father
Raise a daughter and a son
Be a lover to their mother
Everything to everyone
Up and at 'em, bright and early
I'm all business in my suit
Yea, I'm dressed up for success
From my head down to my boots

I dont do it for the money
There's bills that I can't pay
I don't do it for the glory
I just do it anyway
Providing for our future's my responsibility
Yea I'm real good under pressure
Being all that I can be

And I can't call in sick on mondays
when the weekends been too strong
I just work straight through the holidays
And sometimes all night long
You can bet that I stand ready when the wolf growls at the door
Hey, I'm solid, hey I'm steady, hey, I'm true down to the core

And I will always do my duty no matter what the price
I've counted up the cost, I know the sacrifice
Oh, and I dont want to die for you
but if dyin's asked of me
i'll bear that cross with honor
cause freedom dont come free

I'm an amiercan soldier, and american
beside my brothers and my sisters i will proudly take a stand
when liberty's in jeopardy i will always do what's right
i'm out here on the front lines
sleep in peace tonight
american soldier i'm an american soldier

Yeah an american soldier, and american
beside my brothers and my sisters i will proudly take a stand
when liberty's in jeopardy i will always do what's right
i'm out here on the front lines
sleep in peace tonight
american soldier i'm an american
An american
an american

http://mfile.akamai.com/5028/wma/bobnto ... aliban.asx

I'm just a middle-aged, middle-eastern camel herdin' man
I got a little, 2 bedroom cave here in North Afghanistan
Things used to be real nice and they got out of hand when they moved in
They call themselves the Taliban
(ooooo yeah the taliban) (taliban baby)

Now I ain't seen my wife's face since they came here
They make her wear a scarf over her head that covers her from ear to ear
She loves the desert and the hot white sand
But man she's just like me, nah she can't stand
The Taliban (ooo taliban baby)

You know someday soon we're both gonna saddle up and it'll be
Ride Camel Ride
My old lady she'll be here with me, smilin right by my side
We should do just fine down in Palestine or maybe Turkmenistan
We'll bid a fair adieu and flip the finger to the Taliban
(oh yeah the taliban) (baby)

I know where you comin from brother!
This is a patriotic love song
So y'all feel free to salute if you want,
You got my permission.

Now they attacked New York City cause they thought they could win
Said they would, stand and fight until the very bloody end
Mr Bush got on the phone with Iraq and Iran and said "Now, you
sons-of-bitches you better not be doin any business with the taliban"
(Taliban baby)

So we prayed to Allah with all of our might
And then those big U.S. jets came flyin one night
They dropped little bombs all over our holy land
And man you should have seen em run like rabbits, they ran
(the taliban)

You know someday soon we're both gonna saddle up and it'll be
Ride Camel Ride
My old lady she'll be here with me, smilin right by my side
We should do real fine down around Palestine or maybe Turkmenistan
We'll bid a fair adieu and flip a couple fingers to the Taliban
(oh yeah, taliban)
we'll bid a fair adieu and flip a big boner to The Taliban (baby)
