I have a friend with tickets to see these guys live, New Year's Eve. He offered me a ticket, which is $75, + tax, Ticketmaster convenience fees, etc. for a total of $90 or so.

Has anyone seen them live? How are they?

The White Stripes sold out Bogart's this year for a much more reasonable $32/ticket, IIRC.

Was it GA? Part of the problem is New Year's. I never go to concerts on New Year's because they jack up the price. Last year, the Flaming Lips played a concert as the ONLY headlining act, it was still $75 GA (and that doesn't include the other extra fees).

This time, the White Stripes share the bill, so my friend splurged and got two. I rarely do anything that cool on New Year's, but again, $90. There isn't any rush, and I know people who are happy and willing to take my place at a moment's notice.

The White Stripes are probably the deciding factor. I've seen the Lips twice at cheaper shows, and they are a GREAT live act, but both shows I saw were essentially clones: same routines, same setlist, same visuals, same FX, even the same jokes. It's been over a year, so maybe they've come up with something new for their shows.

AFAIK, all shows at Bogart's are general admission.
