Urgent Steve Hoffman query!

...

So I'm here at a friend's house. As we wanted wanted to make a party of it, we decided to pop in that king of all party shows, Mystery Science Theater 3000. And for reasons that totally weren't related to said friend's christening of a pipe of the same name, we watched Joel's last episode, "Mitchell," starring Joe Don Baker.

Throughout the episode, there's an irritating little song that keeps popping up..."My My Mitchell," I believe it's called. Anyway, during previous viewings, I had always marvelled at the fact that it's sung by no other than FUCKING HOYT AXTON.

This time, however, I noticed something different.

The song, as listed in the credits, is written by three people. Two of them aren't important.

One of them is named Steve Hoffman.

Of course, now I must ask: is this *that* Steve Hoffman? Before his lucrative mastering career really took off, was he writing the themes for Joe Don Baker movies?

Not to spoil your party or anything, but why not shoot of a PM--via me or someone else--saying you'll follow the silly rules and get reinstated? Just think--you'd be able to search, query and PM to your heart's content. You know you want to [and no one will think any less of you should you do so].

Steve has chosen not to answer that question:

Of course, the only responsible thing to do is take that as a "yes."

And then there's this:

Hmmmmmmm.

I guess it was too good to be true.

I'd think less of me. It isn't a pride issue. It's how they treated me last time (which they then dissembled about to no end). They burned the bridges, not us.

Corrolary: I've already been shown to be not terribly good at this.

I certainly understand your feelings. But sometimes it's tough to know when you're "biting your nose to spite your face" and when you're making a decision based on principle. As an observer, though, I've just had the feeling that in spite of all the nonsense that's gone down that you nevertheless kind of miss the place.
