Urgent Steve Hoffman query!

...
So I'm here at a friend's house. As we wanted wanted to make a party of it, we decided to pop in that king of all party shows, Mystery Science Theater 3000. And for reasons that totally weren't related to said friend's christening of a pipe of the same name, we watched Joel's last episode, "Mitchell," starring Joe Don Baker.
Throughout the episode, there's an irritating little song that keeps popping up..."My My Mitchell," I believe it's called. Anyway, during previous viewings, I had always marvelled at the fact that it's sung by no other than FUCKING HOYT AXTON.
This time, however, I noticed something different.
The song, as listed in the credits, is written by three people. Two of them aren't important.
One of them is named Steve Hoffman.
Of course, now I must ask: is this *that* Steve Hoffman? Before his lucrative mastering career really took off, was he writing the themes for Joe Don Baker movies?
LET US EEENVESTIGATE!
