Does anyone here have the new stereo remix? Is the mastering/mix that bad? Is it a narrow stereo remix? Are any of the fades significantly longer? Even if Astley effed up the sound it has to be better than the original reissue. I'll take maximzed, no noised ture stereo over fake stereo....

Xenu has a copy. It's not narrow, but it is pretty maximized. There's noticeable NR, especially in places like intros and outtros. The remixes aren't terribly different, but they are different enough for me to think "why did they do that?"
For now I'm sticking with my stereo LP rip.

It's really, really loud...apparently I'm more sensitive to it than Luke is. There's tons of distortion on *everything*, although a declipping does do a lot. FWIW, the original mono CD was pretty pumped as well, but this is even worse. The mixes are interesting, but the mastering totally ruins it, and there's really no reason to have *two* fake stereo tracks.

I've never listened at any length, so...
