Here you go from WMG (Warner Music Group) itself:

Warner Strategic Marketing formed in 2002

Warner Strategic Marketing was developed to promote Warner Music Group’s vast catalog and extraordinary artists in the U.S., as well as to provide support and assistance to the company’s frontline labels. The division -- which includes Rhino Entertainment, Warner Special Products, Warner Music Group Soundtracks, and Warner Television Marketing -- also develops new catalog-related business opportunities across AOL Time Warner and with third-party companies.

Rhino Entertainment Company
Formed as a novelty company more than 25 years ago in the back of a Santa Monica record store, Rhino has become the world’s leading pop culture label. Emphasizing flawless sound quality, bonus tracks, informative liner notes, award-winning creative packaging, an offbeat sense of humor, and a strong social conscience, Rhino continues to set the standard for excellence in the reissue business it started.

The vast Rhino catalog of more than 3,000 CDs and videos features material by Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Chicago, Black Sabbath, John Coltrane, Yes, Alice Cooper, Linda Ronstadt, The Ramones, The Monkees, Carly Simon, The Grateful Dead, Curtis Mayfield, and Elvis Costello, among others.

Rhino Home Video
Formed 15 years ago by Rhino Records, Rhino Home Video has grown into a stand-alone business whose catalog encompasses more than 500 titles. From The Monkees to the Sid & Marty Krofft library of Saturday-morning classics, and from The Transformers to the music performances of The Ed Sullivan Show, Rhino Home Video allows fans to relive some of the most memorable and important moments in pop culture history. The label has recently expanded to offer long- and short-form videos from the WMG library, as well as a line of action-sports products.

Warner Special Products
The Special Products division licenses recordings from WMG for a variety of commercial purposes. The division specializes in the creation of compilations for retail, mail order, and premium use, and is a leading provider of recordings to the motion picture, television, and advertising industries. Warner Special Products also serves as the central licensing clearinghouse for the use of U.S. repertoire by Warner Music International affiliates around the world.

Warner Music Group Soundtracks
The Soundtracks division coordinates film and TV soundtrack opportunities between WMG labels and the motion picture and television studios of AOL Time Warner and third parties. In 2002, the division dominated the music categories of the Academy Awards®, with nominations for Paul McCartney, Faith Hill, and Enya and a best-score win by Howard Shore for Lord Of The Rings. WMG Soundtracks was most recently responsible for the soundtrack to the James Bond film Die Another Day, featuring the title track by Madonna.

Warner Television Marketing
The Television Marketing division develops retrospective compilations for WMG catalog artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Rod Stewart, Frank Sinatra, INXS, and The Doors, to name a few. It also creates various-artist cross-licensed products such as the Totally Hits and Totally Country series, which are marketed primarily through television advertising. Additionally, the department assists WMG frontline labels with their TV product advertising.

What's the point of this post? Boring PR. [Sorry. I'm bored and am going to post nasty little snippets on all threads 'till my fingers hurt.]

Wow. Does that mean these will be the first Warner DVD-As without 5.1 tracks?

That would be quite a radical shift in strategy, since it's been all about the surround to date.

Those Warner's executives have to REALLY earn their money, when they deal with him. They have to be the joke of the industry, especially, when he announces release dates, that, almost, never, happen, when he says they will.

I don't know what his sales history is, but I'm sure, most of the time, it's not worth ALL of the bother, he puts them through. I guess he's a "prestige" artist.

Well, clearly Geffen got sick of it pretty quickly.

But yes, he's a "marquee" artist, much like Dylan at Columbia. His back catalog hums along nicely, and his new releases lends Reprise some critical cachet, even even if they don't sell in huge numbers.

I heard a rumor, in another forum, that Neil Young has his publishing catalog, up for sale.

Any truth to it ?
