I don't know how that works. He sampled The Frogs on "Odelay" but there's no mention of it in the liner notes. I guess it depends on how much of it you use.

Odelay was at the forefront of that trend, though; "Vultures" comes several years later, in a climate which wasn't quite as forgiving of the practice. Given what happened to the Verve for something that wasn't even real sampling, per se, I'd be surprised if Beck didn't have some sort of expensive backroom deal.

It wasn't? I guess I've never checked that closely, but I assumed it was.
