Sunny Afternoon - Stereo 'n such

I recently came across the Kinks "Rare Anthology" discs on one of the various trackers of ill repute. One of the listed tracks was "Sunny Afternoon" i stereo, and so I grabbed it assuming it was going to turn out to be some sort of processing-job. To my surprise, though (and hopefully I'm not the only person who didn't already know about it), it IS real, albeit...well, not very good. Here's a quick MP3:

As an extra bonus, I have a partial flac of another "version" of Sunny Afternoon. I'm curious to see if anyone a) thinks it sounds any different than usual, and b) can identify where it's from.

Not knowing anything, what's the deal?

The vocal/harmonies sound considerably clearer than the rhythm track on that top link.

The .flac is from a very, err, specific iteration of the track. I'm curious to see what people think.

The deal? I have no idea. It sounds like a tape from a vocal overdub session, or something. Rhythm one side, lead vocal other, vocal overdubs center. I don't know where it came from, per se...just that it was on the bootleg in question.

Not being *that* familiar with the song, is it missing something? Piano maybe?

No, the piano's still there. The shoddy quality of the rhythm track makes it even harder to pick up.

It is missing the horn (?) and goes on a bit longer at the end, at least compared w/what's on my old FTF LP.

Very nice to hear those stereo harmonies.

So no comment on the flac?

Oh well. That flac is from "Changin' Times," the R&T set.

The background harmonies in the verses and the lead vocal doubling in the choruses (sounds like it may be Rasa Davies as it doesn't sound like Dave) are neat to hear. Also the little guitar figure at the end which doesn't fade out like the official release. I could hear another acoustic guitar in the background during that last riff.
The second clip sounds like it may have been EQ'd as the guitar and vocals sound more prominent in the high end. No idea on the source.
