NTSC.

The conversions back and forth between the original sources, film, and various video transfers is a confusing mess. I can't for the life of me figure out why the speed of AQO is slow on the DVD. If it was shot at 25 fps, it should be slow on the CED too. If it was shot at 24 fps, there should have been no need to adjust anything for the DVD. I think I tried e-mailing the DVD producer about it once and never got a response.

My copy of the CED is CED -> SVHS -> VHS. I should see if they can do another transfer directly to digital.

Time for a bit of light entertainment (comedy - not music related)

Do you guys have "The Micallef P(r)ogram(me)" over there? If not ...

It aired in Australia between 1998-2001. It took until late 2004 to release any of it on DVD (I guess Shaun Micallef was thinking of other things. Even then he decided series 2 should come first). The UK had reconstructed/re-edited episodes, which were stronger, if I'm honest.

Youtube doesn't really capture what it was about yet (caustic "Alan Partridge with a brain" style talk show with shaggy dog sketches iterspersed) but I like this clip. Once you have sussed how this sketch was made, its more amazing that it's all one take ...

Typical of youtube folk to complain about sound sync when a 3 1/2 min sketch has 20 secs of dialogue ... they didn't notice the aspect ratio though!

And I *still* haven't got round to getting a copy of "Empty Glass"

"Keep On Working" is a gem. Beware comedy moment at 2:28.

Alternate Arnold Layne promo. This surfaced yesterday. I've been collecting Syd for over a decade and I've never even heard rumours of this existing..

Syd duking it out with Waters? How presciently symbolic.

I like the more common Arnold Layne video slightly more, but this one is fantastic nonetheless. Cool find.

Here's a less-common version of the Have You Seen Your Mother Baby video:

Wow, very interesting. Though I think it's mentioned just as a thought, does a "See Emily Play" clip with Syd exist?

Nope. They did it on Top Of The Pops 3 times in July '67 but nearly all TOTP's are long gone.
