Who remixes for You Better You Be, Eminence Front

How are they compared to the original mixes? I read Eminence Front fixes one vocal flub from the original, and that they used a different bass performance. Possibly more echo.

You Better You Bet, I've heard nothing, but I heard the original mix was slammed by the Who. The story is, they got the Eagles producer to produce/mix their album, and when they heard the preliminary mixes, they thought it was gold. Then the Eagles dude took it back to his pad in Florida, remixed it there, and the Who were unable to hear these new mixes - some transit problem I believe since the Who were in the UK. The album was released and they all hated the mix.

Basically, are the new mixes improvement? Enough to overcome any NR or compression (however much that may be)?

First of all, I'm not aware of any NR or compression on those remixes. Those weren't mastered by Astley, but rather Bob Ludwig.

Eminence Front - I know Pete's vocal is now centered, vs. off to the side, but beyond that I really have never paid that much attention.

YBYB - I know there's a slightly different feel to the remix, but nothing has ever jumped out at me as being radically better or different. Then again, I've never really sat down for a close A/B.
