The yellow-label mono Money LP arrived today, and I just cleaned it up and listened to most of Side 1.
First impressions: The sound is definitely cleaner, punchier, and less dull overall than it is on any version of the original stereo mix I've heard, particularly on cuts like "Concentration Moon" and "Mom and Dad." It's a lot closer to what I've always wished the album could sound like, though the recording is still not going to win any hi-fi awards.
The seller advertised its condition as "VG," and I'd say it plays better than that based on what I've heard so far.
Looking To Get Some Zappa

Good point ... I actually listened to the remix a few days ago, for the first time in years, and you can tell the sound quality of the individual tracks is better than might have been expected.
I just confirmed via an email to MoFi that they're working on a gold disc. They of course wouldn't provide any details, and depending on who they're working with (i.e. Ryko or the ZFT), this could be either interesting or a fiasco on the scale of the Lennon reissues. Here's hoping.
