So - are the DJM's the best discs?
And the Polydors are clones of the DJM's?
I see some Canadian Polydors for sale and I was wondering if those were the good ones.

So are the Polydors ALL clones of the DJM's, or what?
Help me out people!

Do any of you cunts want to swap CDR's and fill in all the blanks here?
I have the DJM "Piano Player", so we can figure that one out if anybody has the MCA or Polydor.
It would also be nice if we could figure out which ones are BEST.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Empty Sky" - DJM and Polydor the same. MCA different.
"Elton John" - DJM, MCA and Polydor all different.
"Tumbleweed Connection" - DJM and Polydor the same. MCA different.
"11-17-70" - I only own the Polydor - not tested yet.
"Madman Across The Water" - Don't own the DJM. MCA and Polydor the
same.
"Honky Chateau" - DJM and Polydor the same. MCA different.
"Don't Shoot Me, I'm Only The Piano Player" - Don't own the DJM. MCA and Polydor the same.
"Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" - DJM, MCA and Polydor (single disc) all the same.
"Caribou" - Don't own any.
"Capt. Fantastic & The Brown Dirt Cowboy" - Don't own the DJM. MCA and Polydor different.
"Rock of The Westies" - Don't own any.

The only Elton I own at the moment is on vinyl, so I'm no help.

That's all I got, too. No CDs. It's funny, I know of no one who owns Elton CDs, yet he's one of the top sellers of all time. Perhaps many people simply held on to their Elton records.

I bought the SACDs off of yourmusic a while ago -- these were my first Elton CDs apart from Yellow Brick Road and comps.

And how much have you listened to said SACDs?

Har -- not much yet. I've played around with the 5.1 mixes -- Madman's is fun.

Are the SACDs as bad as the Rocket remasters?

Don't know -- haven't heard the Rocket remasters.

Didn't Dave M do some huge comparison?
FWIW, I haven't even gotten people to swap CDRs of The Who, so certainly not on Elton.
