NASHVILLE (Billboard) - New Sony Music Nashville president John Grady has cut in half the artist roster for the company's four imprints -- Columbia, Epic, Monument, and Lucky Dog.
Dropped were Pam Tillis, Mark Chesnutt, Tammy Cochran, BlackHawk, Billy Gilman, Michael Peterson, Cledus T. Judd, Brad Martin, Clint Daniels, Little Big Town, and Wynn Varble. The combined roster now has just 11 acts and a handful of development deals.
New to the roster is Rodney Crowell, who was previously signed by Grady to Columbia-affiliated DMZ Records, where the executive worked before taking over at Sony last month.
Remaining at Sony are Mary Chapin Carpenter, Travis Tritt, Montgomery Gentry, Patty Loveless, Dixie Chicks, Charlie Robison, Marty Stuart, the Derailers, Buddy Jewell, and Colt Prather.
