Just what the name says.

How do you know it was Columbia House? I didn't notice any markings to that effect.

W2 catalog numbers. The real one would be 6281-2.

Which, now that I think of it, explains why your booklet contains the original mastering credit - the record clubs don't quickly update artwork to reflect new credits or "minor" things of that nature.

I suppose "Manufactured by Columbia House under license" could have given it away too!

Well, assuming this is indeed the first remaster, it would be interesting to hear the original Reprise and Polydor.

You'll be the first to know when I get a hold of either - devilishly hard to find.

Jeez, if I'd only known 10-15 years ago that these original pressings would be so sought after...

I used to have the first editions of all three Experience CD's, but unfortunately they're long-gone. I don't remember them being all that great, but what the hell. The original 2-disc Electric Ladyland was recently uploaded to Pedro's, though, if anyone needs it.

Does anyone have any use for (samples of) the HDCD Ultimate Experience disc?

I have a dupe of the 2 CD Polydor UK Ladyland.

I've heard those can help in finding an apartment.

Consider it done.

I'd be interesting in hearing it. I've got the non-HDCD version (at least I'm assuming it is - I haven't put it in WMP to see if the HDCD light comes on or not).

I could put up a few FLAC samples then. Mine's the HDCD version for sure - it's not a CD-R. It may take a short while until the samples are up (I'm rather busy) but I'll let you know. Any particular song(s)/sections of songs you'd like?

Purple Haze and Castles Made of Sand maybe? Purple Haze sounds terrible on my copy.
