I'd have to listen to the remaster again, but IIRC it's quite maximized *and* has noise reduction.

Maybe it doesn't have any NR. I'm not hearing any obvious artifacts now, although the level of hiss does seem pretty low. Maybe there just isn't much hiss.

The end does sound a bit wonky.
