Well, it held off for admirably long. Well after MTV2 had, slowly but surely, become MTV (about one year offset), VH1C held on, showing pretty much only music videos and very music-related programming.
Immediately after their tsunami-relief campaign subsided, however (which at times uncomfortably resembled PBS-style pledge-driving), it happened: suddenly, VH1C was showing "100 Greatest Dance Songs" and "Behind the Music." Can reruns of "The Surreal Life" be far behind?

Funny you should start a thread on this because I was thinking the same thing.
I saw Bands Reunited on there the other night which actually isn't all that bad as I hadn't seen all of them, but stiil, I went to it for the videos.
And unless my guide is off on DirecTV, it doesn't look the next "video" show is on until 2:am.
Tomorrow, it looks Tuesday Two Play and the Request show are on most of the day (Pay To Play Request - no more "free" All Request Hour I take it).
Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. When DTV added it, I taped a bunch of cool videos off it. I've got those and my broadband connection to keep me more than happy.

A year ago, this radio show in Chicago interviewed Dez Dickerson (sp?) and Dr. Fink, both former members of Prince's Revolution, on the same show - for some reason Dez was interviewed first for about 30 minutes, then after he hung up and they went to commercial, they conducted the Dr. Fink interview (no reason given, but they hinted that it was low, low-tech, low budget show that had problems getting more than one caller on at a time).
Anyway, without any prompting or knowledge of what the other said, BOTH of them said that they expected "Bands Reunited" to show up any day now to reunite the Revolution. Dez even joked that they were going to show up one day while he was in his shorts, mowing the lawn. If they reunited the Revolution, THAT I would see...of course, it wouldn't be the same without Prince.

I noticed the same thing the other night. VH1C was always a reliable go-to for some low-brain-wattage viewing to unwind, but I guess that's over now.
So now I guess Viacom will launch *another* videos-only channel that will be watchable for a few years, and then become infested with non-video programming, and so on, until they have 283 channels all showing reality shows with Dennis Rodman.

Well, they've mostly returned to normal, thank god...
...except now they're in bed with BOSE. Their VJs are shilling in a very scary manner, given how wooden most of those people are. "And you'll enjoy this next Dokken video even more with your BOSE self-isolating noise reducing headphones..."
