NEW YORK (Billboard) - Malaco Records on July 1 will issue an album of 15 previously unreleased tracks by the late Johnnie Taylor. The set, "There's No Good in Goodbye," includes songs from Taylor's 16 years with the blues label; among them are four tracks from sessions for his final album, 1999's "Gotta Get the Groove Back."

Taylor, who died of heart failure in 2000, is best remembered for hits such as the No. 1 soul singles "Who's Making Love" (1968), "Jody's Got Your Girl and Gone" (1971) and "Disco Lady" (1976).

If youre looking for a goooooooood soul music set, check out the 6 cd set "The Last Soul Company: A Thirty Year Retrospective". I have a promo set of this release, and the lineup is astounding...LIttle Milton, ZZ Hill, Eddie Floyd, Dorothy Moore, King Floyd, Little Milton, Bobby Blue Bland, Denise Lasalle, Shirley Brown, Tyrone Davis, and of course, LOTS of Johnnie Taylor!
