That wouldn't do it, since it isn't as if the channels are simply narrowed. That is to say, the bleeding isn't "clean". What you hear in the left channel isn't just what's in the right channel but at a lower volume (which is what you'd hear if it was narrowed). It's a very poor reproduction of what...

Therefore such civilian societies are in no way innocents, but are directly responsible for the existence of the terrorists...Since in my view the civilian society is directly responsible for the very existence of the terrorists, taking the heart out of that society’s wish to kill us appears to me ...

Oh goody, just what we've been waiting for, a chance to buy the dip! Traders said the timing of the explosions, several hours before the start of trading, allowed investors to overcome any knee-jerk reactions to the news. Jay Suskind, head trader at Ryan Beck & Co., noted that buy orders quickly...

Hubbard was quite a fellow. He selflessly devoted himself to developing and deploying the "technology" necessary to free humanity, and then -- having accomplished all he set out to do -- chose to "depart his body." Kinda like Jesus. Perhaps Scientologists even whisper about a "second coming." On 24 ...

Some of you may already be familiar with the 1983 Penthouse interview with Jr., but I just read it for the first time and found it fascinating. It's difficult to discern the truth from all the conflicting stories, but I found (most of) Jr.'s version very believable...if only because he shows Sr. to ...

Re: Young Republicans support war, want others to fight it

Jeff Shafer, a University of Pennsylvania student, said vital work needs to be done in the United States. "There are Republican policies to maintain and protect... Like trying to "save" the life of Terri Schiavo, for instance. ...and an economy to sustain"... Once upon a time, being a war supporter...

I disagree. There isn't more reverb on ROTS, there's crosstalk. Listen to the gold CD. The *only* information in the left channel in the intro is delayed from the right - *only* reverb. On the ROTS version, however, you've got that delayed information *plus* leakage from the right channel that isn'...

I like what Rhino did here. I just compared to both the original CBS and the Rough Power mix, and there's a cohesiveness here, especially with the drums, that's always been missing. The drums are much better on the Iggy mix (in general) as well IMO. On "Search & Destroy", Iggy's vocal track on ...

Xenu wrote:"What's true is what's true for you." I'm surprised more people don't realize how silly that mantra is.

I'm also wondering how that mantra fits in with...
Opinions are only opinions; the facts speak for themselves...

No other religion has ever proved that I am a spiritual being and have been here forever and will be here forever other than Buddhism, and unfortunately Buddha's technology in reaching a higher state was lost.

If anyone knows what "technology" this person is talking about, please fill me in.

I dug out the Rhino "No Thanks!" box and checked out the version of "Search and Destroy" therein. While the notes explicitly state that it's the remix, the mastering is *competely* different. There's no hard limiting in evidence *at all* on the Rhino version, and the Columbia remix CD is a solid gr...

Steve's big on focusing on the vocal, he believes some mastering engineers make the mistake of focusing on the cymbals when it comes to top end adjustment... I would partially agree. Sometimes the best sound can be gained from a compromise (vocals a bit toppy, cymbals a bit soft)...but sometimes co...

One DCC CD is not up to Steve's standard, in my opinion, and only because of those two songs. Fair enough. Actually, I do prefer one song from the SACD (Proud Mary). I wouldn't say that the DCC CD "isn't up to Steve's standard" because of that, though. The DCC Cosmo's Factory, on the other hand, is...

Listen again. The source for the gold CD is a lot better (less hiss, more separation), it just doesn't have the extra EQ the silver CD does. I remember you posting that SH said the ROTS version came from a copy tape...I made that comment to emphasize that it seems like the ROTS is actually the bett...

The ROTS version is a bit brighter, but I think the biggest difference is in the midrange. The gold CD has a lot more. Reducing that a bit really helps, IMO. I just listened to these again (the CDs, not the mp3s) and the ROTS is so much more spacious that it sounds like it was taken from a much bet...
