Chicago on the KBFH (in Quadraphonic) 1974?

I was browsing around looking at KBFH material as I often do and I came across this show listed as a 1974 King Biscuit, and is said to be an 82min. recording. Chicago - King Biscuit Flower Hour 1974 (SQ to DVDA DTS Dolby) I have a Louisville, KY 1975 recording, which my files indicate is a 49min. Bi...

Re: Everybody line up to blow Andrew Sandoval

And the compression...it's out of control. Blah. It's aggravating that nobody has the balls to call out Hersch & Sandoval. Just had another listen to the "arthur" deluxe edition and man, does it suck. People actually prefer these to PRT's? Have you stated in that thread over these tha...

Re: Everybody line up to blow Andrew Sandoval

Meanwhile these mediocre Kinks reissues are the greatest thing since sliced bread. I don't get it. I just read last night the entire Kinks thread, or at least pr. 2, and then some of pt. 1. And yes, they are really going at it, and one member says that he gets a warm and fuzzy feeling with some rel...

Re: Everybody line up to blow Andrew Sandoval

to share my wonderful musical knowledge with the lesser, lower levels, or newbies, and I keep my expectations low. Of course I'm joking (sort of) about lesser, lower levels, etc. But I do keep my expectations low. Man, the mastering on these Kinks deluxes suck ass. All it needs it a layer of noise ...

Re: Finally I am Ripping with dBpoweramp for Music Server

Well, I'm still ripping away. I just tonight set up another computer for ripping. See I had two PCs for doing heavy lifting, and an older one for needle dropping and nothing else. My laptop will not be used for this stuff, which is probably best. I just grabbed an old Pent III I had been given by a ...

Re: Everybody line up to blow Andrew Sandoval

I just listened tonight to the HQ mono needle drop from what I gather was an original US LP. I'm very rarely impressed with others' needle drops, as I am one of the most intense about vinyl condition, deep H20 cleaning, brand new stylus, micro-line tip (if appropriate), dead on levels, and correct s...

Re: Everybody line up to blow Andrew Sandoval

I've never heard Headquarters sound great. I currently have a mono needle drop coming in on demoniod, but I'm not expecting much. Ill report back on that. But it is up seeding now if anyone needs it. I should throw on the Handmade Sessions set for a listen one of these days. Come to think of it, bes...

Re: Everybody line up to blow Andrew Sandoval

I put some Monkees on my Zen players for the gym, and many of the recordings, some of the the early albums/tracks are fucking ear bleeders, or those 1994 expanded remasters are jacked in the high end anyway. I don't care for Sandoval in general. And that forum seems to have past it's prime. Imagine ...

Re: Did you'll see that ABBEY ROAD 5. mix from the multitrac

Five years ago this would have been major news I guess. Time marches on, and Beatles multitracks are just another batch of boot junk at this point I guess. There might be more talk over at the Bootleg Zone forums, or maybe Quadraphonic Quad on this. I kind of like to post here because it's a cozy qu...

WOW, nobody thought this was news worthy enough to comment.

I thought that this was major news, and I look forward to sitting down with it and listening to the whole thing in one sitting. Get a different perspective on the album after all these years.

Did you'll see that ABBEY ROAD 5. mix from the multitracks?

That's right, I was over at the demon looking around for quad reels converted to DVD-As, and I found "Abbey Road" in a 5.0 mix. It turns out the tracks were extracked from the Rock Band game, sync'd up and mixed to 5.0 by Romanotrax. Look for: Beatles - Abbey Road (5.0 mix from the multis)...
