I wish I could help with Wish You Were Here , but I've heard only the CD I have, a German-made Warner Bros. disc (I'll have to check it for details when I'm at home), and my original American vinyl pressing. I'd be interested to know, too, if there's a better CD version out there than the one I have...

Badfinger

I'm a huge Badfinger fan myself, and am surprised to see them unrepresented. I personally would rank Wish You Were Here above Straight Up ... but just barely. Both are great records that would easily make my Top 500, or even Top 20.

How fast is your processor, Jeff? I just installed X the other day (10.2), and Classic seems kind of slow on my 400 MHz G3. My iMac DV has a 400 MHz G3 as well. I did double the RAM to 256MB just prior to the OS X upgrade. Classic opens a little slowly for my taste, but once it's open my old apps r...

Re: OS X for newspapers for dummies

I've heard that people running Quark and Adobe apps are very hesitant to migrate to X. I can understand that. I don't know how well the old apps would run under Classic, either. This is probably waaaay too late to help you, but ... I've been using OS X at home now for almost a year, and I still use...

Sorry EMI, Even though I would *like* these, your pricing is this universe and beyond being called insane.... Same here. I rarely listen to the Beatles these days, but I actually might have picked up at least one or two of those titles if the prices were a little more in line with things down here ...

The first commercial release of the album has red Columbia labels and stamped matrix numbers: Side 1 - PAL-33235-2A, Side 2 - PBL-33235-2AA. I assume the "1A/1AA" matrix numbers were on the Blood On The Tracks test pressing, see 1974. The rear sleeve is the first design with the text in (almost unr...

BOB DYLAN SACD SHOOTOUT Part One - Blood On The Tracks ... The contenders: LP - Columbia PC 33235 (supposedly purchased week of release by my in-laws -- it has the liner notes in black on the back and a solid red inner sleeve) The original American catalog number for the Blood LP was JC 33235. Acco...

Re: Dylan

Anyone get some/all of the SACDs yet? This weekend I bought Bringing It All Back Home, Blonde on Blonde and Love and Theft. Blood on the Tracks is on its way via snail mail. I haven't done any A/B comparisons yet with other versions (for the most part I lost interest some time ago in that kind of e...
