This *has* to be an alternate take. But from where? It sounds way too much like the original to be a re-make of some sort.

For what it's worth, the China splash cymbal even sounds a little different to me.

On a more serious note, my understanding is that one of the things that Jesus tried to teach is compassion for the people on the fringe of society. That's why he preached to lepers, prostitutes, the masses, and not the wealthy, the well-to-do, or the mainstream. Why is it that people claiming to be ...

MiJ

"Child in Time" and "strange Kind of Woman" and "Lazy" and the NON DRUM SOLO part of 'The Mule" make that album great for me. Also, Gillan's inhuman call-and-response bit right before Lazy, and the funny 'can we have everything louder than everything else?" request. "Inhuman" is probably the best w...

And if I had to choose one version of the live Japan concerts, it would be Mew's 3 CD Live In Japan set over the DCC Made In Japan (which, IMO, is one of SH's most overrated remasters). And if you don't want to plunk down the major cash for that 3-disc set, then the smaller, 2-disc anniversary set ...

If Masons are a bunch of Satanists, how come they raise millions of dollars every year for free children's hospitals and other charities? It baffles me why some Christians are so intolerant. My wife and I bought a house recently, and one of the first things some hatemonger left on our doorstep was a...

Hebrew New Testament

I thought the Gospels were written in Greek originally. Do you have more info on this project? A link, perhaps? Here's a link for you: http://www.hebraicrootsversion.com/ The project is run by Dr. James S. Trimm, of the Texas-based Society for the Advancement of Nazarene Judaism (SANJ) ( http://www...

The Beatles To Sue Apple Computers

The Beatles To Sue Apple Computers The big news out of last night's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame dinner at the Waldorf? (I mean, besides the fact that the press was let in for the first time ever?) Here it is: The Beatles are indeed about to sue Apple Computers over the iPod, iTunes and Apple Music. ...

I guess I find it hard to believe because I'm under the impression that the Christians were getting violently persecuted already, and it was mostly an underground movement at that point anyway. Why would they self-censor when they really didn't have much more to lose? (I'm likely woefully ignorant ...

Within the lifetimes, yes, but that's still quite a long period between Jesus' death and the writing of the manuscripts.

That's assuming said manuscripts are "first editions." There may have been older versions that would have been more contemporary.

Plus, the earliest surviving New Testament is from the 4th century. That's a lot of time for things to get edited, changed, re-arranged, etc. In one of the many listservs I've subscribed to, a recent post reminded me that while the oldest complete New Testament is from the 4th century, manuscripts ...

If you read the People magazine (I think it is) article, Mel says something like, "There's no better history than the Gospels." I'm currently reading this book, which might lead you to believe that -just maybe- the Gospels are not *that* historically accurate. It's widely accepted that Matthew and ...

I've not heard that the content itself significantly deviates from the Gospels, just that it chooses to emphasize elements that were glossed over in the Gospels (the torture sequence, for example), from which one might try to divine (ha!) a greater dogmatic message. In that context, I could certain...

First, am I the only one that finds it deeply ironic (or at least laughably stupid) that fundamentalist Protestants are running in droves to see a dogmatic movie made by a Traditionalist Catholic who has stated point-blank that all non-Catholics are damned? Ironic, probably not. Laughably stupid, c...

"Girl Help Me" was one of my favorites from that compilation.

_Zombie Heaven_ is out of stock from Barnes and Noble, but Amazon's got it. Looks like nice packaging, too.

Thanks for the response from everyone. The set is sounding more and more worthwhile. My first exposure to the Zombies was a compilation my parents had. If I remember correctly it was called _The Zombies: The Best and the Rest_. It seems to be out of print, and the best thing I was able to find was t...
