I read that. Honestly, though, I do think he intended to make a direct comparison. He's clearly going on the "moral slippery slope" route...if he wanted to be less incendiary, there're all sorts of things he could've cited that wouldn't have provoked this sort of reaction. Read afa.net sometime...th...

Input needed on Anthology mixes...
Hey all, I just finished with Day Tripper, which was a tricky little thing to edit together...I have two different versions of the intro, and I'd like input as to which one works better. http://home.uchicago.edu/~handmade/dtcomp.mp3 (don't go nuts on the file...make sure to DOWNLOAD it, not stream i...

Re: Senator Santorum's Statement...
[I'll play Devil's advocate.] What is the proper foundation of laws? Cause if it's morality, then you can't fault this guy on that basis. He obviously thinks these acts are immoral. You could argue that point, but if law is based in morality, then the issue is whether something is immoral, not whet...

POB and Imagine remixes...
...I dig the heck out of these puppies (never been partial to the original LP mixes, 'tho I agree that the original mix of Sleep is much better), but what's to gain from MoFi re-releasing 'em? Is it a marketing stunt?

I really, really like most of these revisionist remixes. It's utterly absurd how much better the team has gotten since Yellow Submarine. I've been able to "fix" some of the slightly incomplete clips, but things like Fool and Kitten *really bug me*. -D PS: FWIW, let's not start banding about the +3 E...

Things that're pissing me off about Anthology
a) The sheer number of tantalizing--yet incomplete--clips. For example, it just hit me that the version of "Leave My Kitten Alone" played at the end of Episode 1 is, in fact, the first stereo appearence of the track. And it's faded out like HALF A FREAKIN' MINUTE EARLY. WHYYYY? Same goes for Fool on...

Audio downsampling?
So I've hit the part in my Great Anthology Transcoding Experiment wherein I have to downsample the 48khz audio to 44.1 khz. Question: what's the best way to do this? I see that BeSweet and other DVD-audio programs have downsampling utilities, but I've always used Cool Edit Pro's (set at max, of cour...

http://www.oaklandtribune.com/Stories/0,1413,82~1865~1344801,00.html I'm not really a libertarian in the "get the government out of our lives" way...more just in a "why do we have these laws?" way. Apparently, there's SOME classical philosopher that agrees with me, but I have no idea which one..^_^ ...

Senator Santorum's Statement...
...y'know, sodomy leading to bigamy and the like. My response: The funny thing isn't that it's a non-sequitor...the funny thing is that this senator doesn't seem to understand the proper foundation of laws. Let's examine his statement: a) Bigamy and Polygamy (which are essentially the same thing...h...

Spotlight Kid/Clear Spot (the Rhino disc sounds much better), etc. You got me there. I've got the Reprise issue--didn't even know Rhino had issued the disc. So am I correct in assuming that you prefer the Rhino over the Reprise? Or is there another issue that I'm unaware of?? Rhino hasn't, per se, ...

I listen on lots of systems, thanks...that's one thing I'm certainly NOT missing out on (god bless multiplicity). The thing is, what I hear on the RCAs is what I'd expect to hear on a slightly worn tape...lots of "presence," but very little detail. I have many CDs made from nth generation production...
