Culture wars

Anyone else besides me sick of some people in our society pushing this stupid culture war? It's really nothing but a veiled attack on what they percieve as liberal views.

The reason for adding the "B" sides is probably because many were very popular, and some singles wer double-sided hits. THose singles are the only place where one can find the mono mixes of some songs. I suggested to Harry Weinger that he do the singles box. HE brought in the idea of adding the "B" ...

And does anyone know where the congas are in I Feel Fine? They are still there. They are just washed in tons of reverb, for God knows why. Well, actually, my theory is that Dave Dexter was trying to make that track sound more rock & roll, as the Beatles sound was changing at that point. He was ...

Well, I live in one of those swing states, and the atmosphere is VERY nasty! The republicans are being particularly obnoxious, and the democrats are banding together like never before. I know many republicans who are getting grief from neocons for swiching to Kerry this time. Anyway, since it's gett...

They are just tyring to use it as a political move because their boy Bush is losing ground. What Kerry said also puts them in a tense position with the christian right base that believes homosexuality is a choice.

Exactly. Now, Matt, what do you make of the blatant, in-your-face attempt by the Sinclair group to push one political party over the other on its TV stations? Any outrage there? I think if a movie like Fahrenheit 9/11 is fair game, than this documentary is fair game. What do you make of the lack of...

To me, Cheney came off looking slimy, nervous, and somewhat avoidant, and hostile. But Edwards didn't look so great, either. He looked dishonest. He smiled and blinked his eyes too much.

Neither one of them won, but if I had to choos between the two, my nod goes to Edwards.

Thsy both made slip ups, but nothing tops the slips and stammering that Bush did. Kerry won this one big time! I can't wait to see how badly he fucks up the second debate.

Political encounters

What are some of the more unusual or particularly hostile encounters have you had with strangers about politics? Yesterday, while I was working, an older Hispanic man came up to me out of the blue and told me to vote for Bush. I asked him why, and he told me that Kerry was a communist or socialist, ...

OTOH, what better way to shake up those crusty, bigoted christian conservatives than to infilterate the Republican party with black gays? Good point. I wonder if Bush will appear at an ALBRC event to accept their endorsement. I'd pay money to see that. Ryan It does make me wonder if those young bla...
