I like the stereo mix better with 2 (big) exceptions, Lucifer Sam and Pow R Toc H. The panning in the stereo Lucifer is a little over the top. I still enjoy it though. The stereo Pow R is awful. There is nothing going on in one channel for half the song and some guitar bits are missing.

Think of it; only 4 Beatles tracks' multis are no longer available (Love Me Do, P.S. I Love You, She Loves You and I'll Get You). All of the rest of 'em are there. No, that's just what wasn't mixed to stereo (and in the case of LMD/PSILY, recorded twin-track). A lot of the PPM session tapes no long...

The Beatles were really a special case. EMI bulk erased or threw out many multitracks in the mid 60's including the Pretty Things, Floyd, and The Zombies. We're lucky that so many 1967 Floyd session tapes survive. Most of the post Piper stuff with Syd is in the vault. You would love the Random Preci...

It did look like they were finished. After the interview you can see Waters put his guitar down and Clark starts talking about the next act.

It's interesting that they used a really, really bad copy of the BBC "Vegetable Man" for that film and not the studio version, or even a BBC mastertape version. I know a lot of people who saw that clip and said "That's Vegetable Man? No wonder they didn't release it...it's horrible!&...

I couldn't get that link to work but the longest version I found on youtube was 3:30. Mine is approx 5:10 or so. Unfortunately I don't have a DVD drive on my computer. If I did I would post it. I guess it's possible they also mimed to Emily but my copy looks complete. It starts with Dick Clark sitti...

what is with these old audio and video studios??? Don't they check inch by inch what they have and everything to organise the place and label everything once and for all? and release the nice stuff... Or everything for that matter... then the world will be a perfect place... :D Anyways, I heard Pat...

I was thinking that it's possible that some of the early singles reels might have been left at Sound Techniques. I wonder if anyone has tried to track down that lot?

Yeah, that "safe-stereo" confused the hell out of me too. WHat I want to know if when that mix was done? Is it a vintage unused 1967 mix?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhJYqa_htCY The above link contains a recently surfaced clip of an alternate Arnold Layne promo done for the French TV program Baton Rouge in May '67. A rather incredible find.. \ I think it's from a Netherlands television show called Fan Club on April 29th 67 (broadc...

When was the singles reel edited together? It says it was done in the 90's in book. The singles multitracks were probably gone by 1971 when "Relics" was put together because "Arnold/Emily" were fake stereo and "Paintbox" was the vintage stereo mix. I wonder what is on ...

Oh shit you're right Chris. I'm looking at Random Precision and there are no multi-tracks listed for "Apples". Also, for "Paintbox" there are two tapes with Takes 1-9 on them but the second tape says "for best see E66563" but there is no further tape with that number. ...

I would love to hear a stereo version of Point Me At The Sky though... are the master tapes for It Would Be So Nice and Point Me A...

There is an early mono mix of Matilda Mother that pre dates the editing that is on the released version. Everything after the first edit wi...
