JWB, we're happy to to provide you with your very own forum to moderate at Stereo Central, if you'd like.

Um, why would someone call himself (non-ironically) an "SH protege"?

Does this mean that Rob sells Sony-owned master tapes to Norman Petty?

I remember the old days at SHtv when you had to work hard to get banned. Nowadays they just shoot on sight. Lazy sods.

I've never heard Sylvian's work with Fripp, but the two Holger Czukay/David Sylvian collaborations are fantastic.

I have an aversion to Cannuck eunuchs spouting Ayn Rand as well. Keep trying.

No. I could (and did) slog my way through the Crimson discography, but there's NO WAY, NO HOW I'm touching a Grateful Dead album, even if you had a gun to my head. (Sudden death is preferable to a drawn-out spiritual death.)

<shrug> Copeland *was* a fine drummer in his day, and I'm sure Bruford knows as much about time sigs as you do. From what I've read BB's jazz tastes run to Elvin Jones/postbop stuff. I never would have pegged you for a jazz snob.... Knowing jazz does not necessarily equate with being a "jazz s...

As I said, Bruford was a nice guy (which is more than I can say about Belew ; didn't talk to the others) -- bubbly personality. It's just that he kept telling me how much he was into "jazz," yet seemed to know little about it. Amazingly, he didn't know who John Gilmore was, seemed like he'...

Whistling therapy AND a tireless promoter of gay marriage. Those are good hobbies.

However, I fear that the whistling therapy talk is going to indirectly give gay marriage a bad name in the eyes of the general public.

COLA... so you think the Beach Boys suck. Then why have you bothered to listen to their shit years albums enough times to have detailed, informed opinions about how and why they suck? What's that about? Masochism? Or are you a lapsed fan now seeking to deprogram others? You may also be shocked to k...

What's even worse is that I had to first endure the King Crimson "double trio" concert. One of the most horrific things I've ever had the unfortunate displeasure to have witnessed and heard in this life was the spectacle of Belew -- hamming it up like that grinning idiot guitar player who ...
