This is outrageous behavior. I'm so sick of the fucking conservatives I can't even begin to express it. Phyllis Schafly needs to be hung from a public square and Vieira's comments implying that judges who don't tow the conservative line should be killed can only be interpreted as terrorist threats ....

Ryan's memory of the 87 playlist is very good. I saw that tour twice (in Cleveland and Pittsburgh) and they opened with Shine On both times. And nothing from Animals.

Belew seems like an amiable enough guy, at least. And the guys in CGT will come out and mingle with the audience and sign autographs. As does Tony Levin, who signs autographs and (at least when I saw his band in 2002) patiently answers questions about Peter Gabriel ("I don't know when the album's c...

Yes, he definitely plays on Fletcher & Not Now John, but I think he probably felt like a studio musician on that album.

Look at me, getting inside his head ...

the last time I saw Crimson live was the night after the 2000 Presidential election (got pretty drunk that night...) at the 9:30 Club in D.C. During a quiet moment in one of their songs, one of the bartenders had the audacity to throw away a bottle. There was an audible gasp in the audience as the g...

Gilmour is on record as saying he doesn't care much for Animals (which is shocking to me because I consider that his finest playing with Pink Floyd), so that might explain why they didn't play any of that album post-Waters. And it's no shock that they wouldn't want to cover any of TFC, anymore than ...

Just a few words about Musicology. The song Musicology is terrific, and was good live when I saw him last summer. However, that's the only interesting song on the album IMHO ... and Prince must agree with me since that's the only song he did on the last tour, and it was the first song of his first s...

Robert Fripp mocked by his fans

The most recent King Crimson Fan e-mail newsletter includes the following entry: SUBJECT: Tour '08 "A demand to fetishize and imprison the event within the constraints of photography, autography and recording." Flash forward: KC tour 2008 (the great move sideways). "Audients" will be screened for ca...

I'm happy with the sound of the 90s version. Does "Tigers" really add anything? Ryan I don't think it necessarily adds anything, but it does flesh out the "big ideas" of the album a little bit, and since I don't have the compilation, I'm glad to have a digital version of that song (not including th...

Maybe we should ask Frist about the sanctity of cats' lives and Bush about the sanctity of frogs' lives. And DeLay about the sanctity of rats' lives. Cats, frogs, & rats don't vote, but if they did, I imagine they would be environmentalists - or in the case of rats, interested in homelessness i...

I had the LP back when it came out, but was into rock 'n roll & found it too dense and cumbersome to enjoy, so I never bought the CD. However, now I'm over the DSOTM --> The Wall period, and am starting to get into the earlier stuff, so I decided to give the Final Cut another chance and just bou...

Now begins the interesting part. Which way will the pendulum swing? Will the wild-eyed life-at-any-cost types be emboldened out of anger that things didn't go their way for once? Or will the amazing levelheadedness shown by the judges in this case strengthen those who were fighting for personal lib...

I can claim one bit of Who glory (or ignominy) over you pups...I saw the "Tommy" movie in NYC the first week it opened. I remember it being COLD as FUCK waiting on line outside the Zeigfeld theater. And did you feel hotter or colder after seeing Jack Nicholson singing and Ann Margret rolling around...
